Happy New Year and Doug's knee!

New Year's Eve Grandma took all of the grandkids and moms to see Princess and the Frog. We loved it! The first thing Brynlee said the next morning was "Mom, didn't you just love Princess and the Frog!" New Years Eve night the kids went to bed around 9:30 and then us adults stayed up until about 12:30 and played the Wii. It was fun! On New Year's Day Mendy's husband Darren came from Colorado. He had to work so he could not come until then. The next day Doug, Jeremy, Darren, and Spencer went snowboarding. They were having a great time, unfortunately Doug's fun was short lived when accidentally ran into a tree and hurt his knee bad. That trip has resulted in a lot of trouble for Doug. I took him to the ER that night to try to get an MRI. They would only do an Xray that night, which of course did not show anything. The next week we went to a specialist that could tell right off that he tore his MCL, but ordered an MRI to see what else he might have done. She put him in a fancy knee brace that seems to help in walk a little better. A few days later we went back and got the results. He said that his MCL tear is a third degree tear and he partially tore his ACL. He recommended to see if it will heal on its own before being aggressive and doing surgery. We were happy about that, but so far it has not improved at all. So we will see what happens with it. Doug started the year off with a bang!
