Christmas Vacation

The day after the wedding we left early morning for Martin, South Dakota, following Doug's parents. Our car was packed to the brim with all of our Christmas presents. The kids did great and were so excited to get there. They rode with Grandma and Grandpa for part of the trip which they thought was pretty fun! We all had a blast when we got there and spent our days playing and eating Christmas treats. Slowly other families arrived and there were lots of cousins to play with. Marla and Curtis and their family and Jeff and Rochelle and there family arrived on Tuesday. Brent and Tauna live there so we were able to spend a lot of time with them as well. We had a bad blizzard through most of our visit, but were still able to play outside some. Jacob was able to ride with Grandpa on the combine when he was finishing up the corn harvest. Then Doug and Jacob went pheasant hunting and shot three pheasant. For some reason we do not have a picture of this, however. We also went sledding behind the four wheeler. Jacob and Brynlee enjoyed doing this and Doug had a good time being pulled by the four wheeler on his snowboard. The night before Christmas Eve the electricity went out for a few hours. It would flash on and off and since the water is supplied by an electric pump from the well, we all hurried and used the bathroom when the electricity would flash on. The kids thought it was pretty fun to have to use candles and lanterns for a while before they got the generator started. Christmas Eve the electricity stayed on all day but flashed on and off through out Christmas morning.
