Girl's trip to the Coast!

Well my mom and sister's and I have been wanting to do a girls trip for a while, so we took advantage of my cousin Nathan getting married in Portland Oregon to make a trip out of it. My sister Kalie had just got married and had just started a new job so she was not able to come with us this time, but my sisters Mendy, Camillia, and my Mom were all able to come. Isaac was a lucky duck because he was the only kid that was able to come because he is a little mama dependent still. So we left Wednesday May 5th and drove straight through to Long Beach Washington. Doug worked from home Wed, Thurs, and Fri, which worked out great so he could take care of Jacob and Brynlee and get them to preschool T-ball etc. We spent a couple of nights at Long Beach in a great condo that my Aunt Laura was able to hook up for us. My Aunt Colleen and Uncle Dave stayed there as well. It was right on the beach and right in town. My grandparents use to live in a small town right by Long Beach so this was a fun trip down memory lane as we drove by their old house, went to our favorite stores and ice cream shop. The beach was beautiful and so fun to walk down every morning as we searched for treasures that were washed up from the sea. We really could not of asked for better weather. Isaac did great and was quite spoiled. Friday morning we headed to Portland. Unfortunately Mendy was not able to stay for the wedding. Her husband's grandfather had just passed away and she needed to get back for the funeral which was Saturday morning. So we dropped her off at the airport Friday afternoon and then met up with the Nead family and my dad who had flown in that afternoon. My Grandpa Nead has several relatives that live in that area so we met up with them for dinner. On Saturday I was fortunate to have Nathan's soon-to-be wife's younger siblings watch Isaac for me so I could attend the wedding ceremony. It was beautiful and the reception later that night was great too. It was nice to be there. Early Sunday morning, also Mother's Day, we headed home. We were all pretty anxious to see our families. The traveling really went well and Isaac did great. When I got home I was excited to see my family and really appreciated the "Welcome Home" sign and Mother's Day signs. Doug had even made me brownies. The kids did pretty good for Doug. I was a little nervous how much work he would be able to get done while taking care of them, but he was able to quite a bit done. The only time I was a little worried is when Doug texted me Friday morning, all it said was "Pray for your kids". I started laughing and figured it was a rough morning. Which it was, but they survived. Thanks again Doug for letting me go play for a few days. I really had a lot of fun with my Mom and sisters. It was great to be together and just have fun without much responsibility! Thanks girls for a great trip! We look forward to Kalie and my soon to be sister Ashley to join us next year!

The Columbia River as we drove along side! It is pretty breathtaking!

How fun to have a girls' trip and attend your cousin's wedding. You have some beautiful scenery pictures, too.
