We met at BYU-Idaho on a blind date. We were married May 22, 2003. After we both graduated we moved to North Salt Lake Ut. We lived in Syracuse with my parents for about a year while our new house was being built, and we now live in Layton, UT. We have four beautiful children, Jacob 7, Brynlee 5, Isaac 2, and Mason 2 months. Doug works for CVS Caremark as a Software Engineer and I am lucky to be able to stay home with my cute kids. I am so grateful for my wonderful family and life!
Jacob He is a fun loving boy that loves laughing and making people smile! He loves any sport and enjoys playing outside. He is always up for a challenge and loves competition. I love his big hugs and listening to him tell me his stories. He is a great big brother!
Brynlee She is our little princess! She is such a great big sister. She takes good care of her two little brothers and is a good playmate for her big brother. She is very smart and always makes me laugh with her sassy and fun personality! She is a great helper and my little buddy!
Isaac He is so much fun! A bit crazy, but lots of fun. His smile and laugh are very infectious and he is often the center of attention. He loves his little brother and tries to make him happy! He is always on the go and is always trying to keep up with his older brother and sister!
Mason
He is such a sweet baby and very cuddly! We all love holding him and loving him! He has very kissable cheeks and chubby legs. We love him so much!
We were late starting wrestling this year because we found out late when the season started. But Jacob started and finished the first program and is now in the second program. He has really improved this year and has been really fun to watch! He has wrestled in several tournaments and still has a couple to go before the seasons over.
Between matches Brynlee had fun taking pictures! Grandma and Grandpa came to watch Jacob at the Layton tournament!
Jacob overheard my Mom talking about when Mason was born that he had a lot of cream on him. This was a conversation Jacob had with his aunt Ashley after hearing that.
Jacob: Ashley, what do you think was on Mason when he was born? Ashley: He was inside your mom so I don't know. Jacob: Oh, it was probably ice cream and sprite because she ate that a lot!
So I am about 8 months pregnant and I was on the trampoline sweeping off some rocks that were on there. Brynlee had a couple of friends with her and they were sitting on the side of the tramp. One girl asked if I could jump them really high. I told her that I didn't think that would be a good idea. The other little girl then stated, "Yeah, you would probably break the trampoline!"
Brynlee: Mom, after you drop me off at dance are you going to go change your shirt?
Mom: Do I need to change my shirt?
Brynlee: Yeah.
Mom: Is it dirty?
Brynlee: No, I just don't like it. It's just not very cute.
I was substituting in Byrnlee's sunbeam class and asked the class why Heavenly Father sent Jesus to the earth for us. One cute little girl said as loud as she could:
"Because everyone needs a Jesus!"
I was very touched by this comment and knew she spoke the exact truth!
Brynlee: Mom, you and I have fat heads.
Mom: Why do you say that?
Brynlee: Because our heads are just a lot fatter then dads.
Well thank you very much Bryn!
Jacob: Mom, what comes after 'B' in BYU?
Brynlee: Mom, I think Dad just wanted some feel better medicine(which is candy) from Grandma, that's why he hurt his knee.
Mom: Brynlee, did you put your baby away all the way down stairs? Brynlee: Yes I did, but don't go check.
Jacob: Dad are we going to Grandma and Grandpa who has cows and horses house? Dad: Yes we are. You can call them Grandma and Grandpa Ireland if you want. Jacob: It is hard for me to remember. Dad: It shouldn't be hard to remember. What is your last name? Jacob: Jacob David who has cows and horses!
I had just tucked Jacob and Brynlee in bed and was about ready to leave their room. I looked over at Jacob and he was cuddled up with his bear to go to sleep, then I looked at Brynlee and she was frantically looking for something. Mom: What do you need Bryn? Brynlee: I have to find my phone. I have to text someone really quick before I go to sleep. Huh Oh, we are in trouble!
Brynlee: Heavenly Father, please help me to sleep good. Please help Isaac to sleep good. But not Jacob...
Jacob: Heavenly Father, Thank thee that the baby can have so much fun in mommy's belly.
Brynlee: Mom, I don't think there is a baby in your belly because I have looked and I can't see it. Mom: Well why is my belly so big? Brynlee: You just have a big belly.
Jacob: If I brush my teeth first (before Brynlee), can I pick out a book?
Doug: You don't always get to pick out a book if you brush your teeth first, just sometimes.
Jacob: Can now be sometimes?
Brynlee: Mom can I have some more?
Mom: What do you say? Brynlee: Please with a cherry on top, you idiot.
Brynlee picks up mean names to call people pretty easily. She is learning though that she does not like the Cayenne Pepper that goes on her tongue after she says them. So this was her new one that she figured wouldn't get her Cayenne Pepper: You, you.... OLD MOM!
Brynlee: "Hey Mom, I am not sick anymore. I don't have to throw up and I don't have anymore poo-poos or ballerinas(aka diarrhea)!"
I was talking to Doug and Brynlee was trying to get my attention. To appease her I said "What Brynlee?" while I continued talking to Doug. She then said in a very stern voice, "Mom, when you are talking you are not listening to me!"
Doug: "Goodnight Brynlee, my Princess." Brynlee: "I am not a princess, I am Tinkerbell!"
A few days ago, early in the morning, Jacob started yelling in his sleep, "No Daddy! Don't take my candy!" The funny part about it was that at that exact same time Doug was dreaming that he was taking Jacob's candy and eating it! It was pretty funny!
Jacob: Mom, why do some people not like Jesus? Mom: Because they don't know him. Jacob: That is why I am going to teach them all about Jesus.
Mom: Jacob did you have fun at the park? Jacob: Yeah, but my friend threw sand on me. Mom: I'm sorry, did you ask him nicely to stop? Jacob: No, I just pushed him.
Brynlee: No Mom, I'm in charge!
Mom: Let's not play bad guys. Jacob: But I am a nice bad guy.
Brynlee: Mom, I want to tell you a secret. Mom leans over and Brynlee whispers: You stinky!
